Apprentice Engineer Leads the Way for Women in BMS

Mia Whyte BMS Controls Engineer

Leading the Way

WISE Controls is proud to celebrate Mia Whyte, our talented Apprentice BMS Controls Engineer, who is proving that skill, passion, and determination have no gender.

In an industry still largely male-dominated, Mia is blazing a trail for the next generation of female engineers. Her work supports some of the region’s most complex Building Management Systems, helping to optimise performance, boost energy efficiency, and keep critical facilities running at their best.

What I love most about the job is seeing how the systems we design and maintain make such a real difference — from saving energy to keeping environments safe and comfortable. Every day brings a new challenge, and that keeps me motivated.
— Mia Whyte

At WISE Controls, we believe in closing the gender gap in engineering by providing opportunities, mentorship, and hands-on training for women entering the field. Mia’s journey is just one example of how fresh perspectives and diverse talent can strengthen our industry.

We’re currently seeking new apprentices who are ready to learn, grow, and join a supportive team that values skill, curiosity, and collaboration above all else. If you’re looking to start your career in BMS Controls and want to work in a business that’s reshaping the future, we’d love to hear from you.
