Broadgreen Hospital

Driving Energy Efficiency Through BMS Upgrades and Renewable Integration

Broadgreen Hospital sought to advance its energy reduction programme by upgrading its ageing Building Management System (BMS) and integrating renewable energy technologies. The challenge was not only to replace a life-expired control system but also to enable direct connectivity with new and existing energy reduction and generation assets.

WISE Controls provided expert consultation and, following successful early-stage works, were selected to deliver the BMS upgrades. The new control system was designed with flexibility and scalability, ensuring compatibility with future energy initiatives.

In addition to the upgrade, WISE Controls supported integration of renewable energy systems, including Solar Generation, Wind Turbines, and Air Source Heat Pumps. This seamless integration created a single platform for monitoring, control, and optimisation, enabling the estates team to maximise efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and extend the value of renewable investments.

The result was a modernised, future-ready BMS that not only improved day-to-day operations but also empowered the hospital to achieve long-term sustainability targets.
